It has been an exciting seven months since we launched the Revinylize Recycling Collaborative in early December 2023.
I must say, after a year and a half of running the pilot program in Northeast Ohio, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the launch.
What is evident in these seven months is that there is a need for Revinylize. In other words, there is a need for:
Now is the time to make post-consumer rigid vinyl recycling the “norm.”
Are You Involved Yet?
How have you or your company become involved with this program? I would love to hear about success stories and any challenges – there’s always room for improvement. Please send me your thoughts at mdobson@revinylizenow.org.
To date, we have three Verified Recyclers onboard. Each recycler has been officially approved through GreenCircle’s verification process. What does this mean? It ensures they are actual recyclers that can collect post-consumer rigid vinyl materials to be recycled.
A Big Welcome and Thank You
I want to welcome the program’s Association sponsors to date: the PVC Pipe Association (Uni-bell) and the Plastic Pipe and Fitting Association (PPFA). It’s exciting to learn how a wider net will lead to even more growth and success.
Thanks to PEPA staff – especially team member Brookklin Brown – for their direct involvement with managing the Revinylize website platform and in keeping up with member communications. It has been a pleasure having her help to add to the program’s continued success.
Lastly, please add Revinylize to your sustainability mission and your company’s sustainability program. In the infamous words of Michael Jordan, "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."
Please help us to make this a championship program. I look forward to your continued support and involvement!
